Occupational Education: (2 semesters required = 1 credit)
R = Required
E = Elective

R Life Skills (grade 12, 1 semester) Emphasis on building a life in the context of the Christian community, with real life applications such as public speaking, career research, household and financial management, interpersonal communications, and research and problem solving tools.

R Microsoft Office User 1 (grade 9, 1 semester) An introduction to Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

E Microsoft Office User 2 (1 semester) A project-based course, using MS Office XP to work with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

E Web Page Design (1 semester) An introduction to creating and enhancing web pages, using various mediums such as HTML, XML, and CSS.

E Introduction to Hardware and Operating Systems (2 semesters) Students learn hardware components and computer assembly as well as running and maintaining operating systems and networks.

E Publications Staff (2 semesters) Design, development, and publication of the school yearbook.

E Teacher’s Aide (1 semester) (1/4 credit per semester) SLHS or elementary school classroom, library, gym, or office assistant.

E* Driver’s Education (1 semester) (1/4 credit) *This course is taught by a Seattle Public School instructor in the SLHS building, 2 days per week before or after school. Grades are recorded as pass/fail on transcripts.
