SLHS E-News February 2010

Therefore if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away ; behold, all things have become new.
I Corinthians 5:17

Greetings Saints,

Second semester is currently underway and there are a lot of good things going on at Seattle Lutheran. We just concluded a terrific Winter Spirit Week with a well organized and well attended winter dance. The dance took place at the Hall at Fauntleroy and was put on by the Sophomore class. All those in attendance had a great time!

The rest of February will be a celebration and recognition of diversity. Each week will be devoted to recognizing a different culture with a guest speaker addressing our students at chapel services.

February is also a busy month for our basketball and robotics teams as they are working very hard in preparation for their respective state tournaments. In addition, our spring sport coaches are busy gearing up for the start of spring sports on March 1st and the Drama department has already begun rehearsals for the spring drama production Done to Death.

I also want to make you aware that the date for progress reports is February 26th. You should be checking Edline at this time since it is the middle of the third quarter. Please contact your son or daughter’s teachers if there are any concerns.

Blessings,

Mark Henderson
Principal

AUCTION ACTION UPDATE!

Greetings SLHS Families, Alumni and Friends!

We are off to a great start in planning for the “Global Connections” Dinner and Auction on March 12, 2010.

First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to the many people who have volunteered to help with our 2010 Auction and Dinner! Currently, the procurement team is contacting Seattle-area businesses for donations and is pleased with the positive responses (over 50 donations so far!). The menu selection for our delicious dinner at SSCC is final. Printed pieces are due this week from the printer—watch for your save-the-date postcards! Catalog ads are being sold. The mailing team completed the procurement letter posting and is on standby for the postcards. And that’s just during the first month of Auction Action! Volunteer opportunities still open can be found by either checking the SLHS website (click on the Auction banner) or the sign-up poster hanging in the main office. C’mon, join the fun!

Of course, procuring auction donations will ensure a solid base for bidding. Procurement forms are available to download on the SLHS website (click on the Auction banner) or at the main office front desk. Also, check out the list of suggestions if you are looking for ideas. You are encouraged to get your auction donations in early, but note the deadline is February 5.

Again, thank you for supporting SLHS!

There is still time for you to sign up to help with the SLHS Auction.
