All-School Enhancement Day
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 5, 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m., as we perform our year-end cleaning and maintenance tasks on our school building and grounds. A wide variety of “chores” is available, from window washing to painting and grounds maintenance, as well as minor repair and renovation projects.
This is a great opportunity for families to complete their PIP service obligations and, as is our custom, on this day only we will credit PIP hours for both parents and students (aunts, uncles and cousins too….) if they work together for the day. As always, pizza lunch will be provided for all who work.
In order to plan our projects for the day, we request that you “sign-up” in advance by contacting Jennifer Lulow in the school office no later than Wednesday, June 2.
Spring Concert
Please plan to join us for our annual Spring Concert and Art Show on Monday evening, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. It is a special occasion for our Handbell Choir and Jazz Band, as they look forward to sharing the results of their hard work in rehearsal during the school year. You will appreciate the varied musical offerings of these two groups, as well as some special solo performances as well
Enjoy refreshments in the church commons, following the concert, as you enjoy viewing the works of SLHS fine arts students. This is a special opportunity to support and encourage the work of student musicians and artists. Please make it a priority to help us provide them with a large and enthusiastic audience!
Student Art Show
The annual Arts West student show it May 23 through 29, with a special reception to honor students on May 27 from 6–7:30pm. |

Dear Saints Families,
On behalf of our faculty and staff I would like to thank you all for your generosity during teacher appreciation week and for your support throughout the year.
I would like to congratulate Mrs. Zandi and the Drama department for their work on this year's spring production. The cast and crew put in many hours of preparation and it paid off in an outstanding production!
I would also like to congratulate Thor Winters who qualified for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Program and out of about 1.5 million students who took the PSAT, Thor scored in the top 5% allowing him to qualify for the program. Way to go Thor!
Although the weather is not cooperating, spring is in full swing here at SeaLu. Senior project presentations are currently underway, AP students begin testing this week, and our sports teams are finishing the regular season and making preparations for post-season playoffs, and of course our Seniors are putting the final touches on a terrific career here at SLHS and preparing for graduation.
Besides the graduation ceremony we have a few other events which I would like to bring to your attention. On May 17 we will have our spring concert, the end of the year academic awards night will be held on June 1, and our Agape service will be held June 10, the night before graduation. Please check the website for locations and times.
There are a couple of calendar changes that I would like to alert you to. In addition to our spring holiday on May 28 we will also have a Principal’s holiday on May 27 as our softball, baseball and track teams all head to their respective state tournaments. The second semester academic awards will move to May 26 and will take place during the day at 11:42 am in the gymnasium.
Blessings,
Mark Henderson
Principal

Soldier's Angels Club

The Soldier’s Angels club received a surprise visit from their soldier today, Monday, April 26th! They were happy to finally meet the person they have been sponsoring all year – newly promoted, Sergeant Howard. Sergeant Howard came by to meet the students, and thank them for all their letters, and care packages before heading to Colorado Springs where he will be stationed for the next few months. The students truly enjoyed finally meeting this person that they have been writing to in Iraq. It was good to be able to put the face with the name, and hear all about his experiences, and future plans. The students had some really good questions, and enjoyed hearing why Sergeant Howard decided to enlist in the Army out of high school. We hope to continue our friendship by sponsoring Sergeant Howard again in the fall.
Thank you Sgt. Howard for the wonderful service you provide to our country!
