 Lydia Bassis

Lydia Bassis was born in New York and grew up in Canada. She spent her formative school years in French-immersion schools in Toronto and Vancouver. Lydia is a graduate of the University of Washington with a BFA in Printmaking and a BA in Art History. She also has an MFA in Visual Art from Rutgers UniversityLydia’s areas of expertise include drawing, painting, and printmaking. She has been working as an artist and Adjunct Professor at various colleges and universities in New York before coming to Seattle Lutheran. Lydia would like to start a photography program here and introduce the students to printmaking. She will be teaching all of the art courses as well as Life Skills. Lydia has two beloved Chihuahuas named Isabel and Oliver. She loves watching creativity unfold and enjoys seeing life through her students' eyes. |
