Saints Parents Association Priorities and Goals

The Parents Association Board recently adopted 6 new short-term goals:

1. Provide greater support for student activities - help with financing field trips, paying for bus rentals, supporting field trips to college campuses, museums, cultural events, possibly an all school field trip.

2. Greater outreach to other schools, students and the community - supporting school dances (possibly having a dance with several other schools), supporting events like Super Bowl parties, Christian Concerts etc. where students beyond SLHS would be invited to attend.

3. Recognition of Volunteer efforts - "Thank You" notes, volunteer brunch or tea event in the spring, recognition on web site and bulletin board in the school. Establish procedures for recognizing and awarding "Halo Awards" for volunteering and random acts of kindness.

4. Marketing and Promotional opportunities - continue to support the school in helping to promote and market the school. Share new marketing materials with current families and community so they know what is happening and available at our school.

5. Communication - continue to help improve communication between parents, teachers, parents association and school administration.

6. Unity between School, Students and Parents - reaffirm of the values of the SLHS community. Provide educational seminars to parents with topics relevant to teenage issues and parenting education issues.

If you have any suggestions or would like to help us achieve these goals we can use volunteers for many of them and appreciate your help to make these goals a reality. Please email the PIP Coordinators.

PIP Volunteer opportunities - Please make sure and help out if you are called upon to help with a school event you signed up for on your PIP Form. If you have questions about PIP please contact Marion Lisko / lisko8@msn.com
