Drama Performance – Influencer Nation, A Stay-At-Home Play

This spring, Seattle Lutheran Drama presents two short plays about our relationship to the Internet and social media!

In Influencer Nation, A Stay-At-Home Play by Carrie McCrossen and Meg McCrossen, two PBS hosts learn that instead of hosting a program on the next US poet laureate, they are instead interviewing candidates for the nation’s first “influencer laureate”.  They speak to one online influencer in the categories of comedy, gaming, podcasting, fashion, finance, and politics.  The interviews go about as well as you would expect.  Then, in The Internet is Distract—OH LOOK A KITTEN by Ian McWethy, high school student Micah just needs a few more minutes to finish her essay on The Great Gatsby, but she is very prone to distraction.  Eventually, it begins to seem like the online world is actively trying to keep her there…

Both plays will be recorded in advance and available to view on Friday, May 7th,  and Saturday, May 8th ONLY.  Tickets may be purchased for $15 per device by clicking the link below.  We are excited to share them with you!
